The Silent Interlocutor Blog

NextWave just released the new version of their AI model. They are calling it “Chrys 4.0,” and first of all, that has to the dumbest name they could have possibly decided on. I feel like I have been seeing nothing but Chrys ads for the last month, and still no one stopped to consider that the name is utterly horrendous. Whatever. Caleb and I have been messing around with it today. The free trial doesn’t let you submit too many prompts, but we were able to get it to a write a funny story (link if you want to read it for yourself). I decided to also ask it a few philosophical dilemmas just to see what it would say (Trolley Problem, Ship of Theseus, etc.) and all it gave was a bunch of nonanswers. Evan is, of course, enthralled with it. He was already bad enough with the last version, but now he will not shut up about it. He keeps talking about how A.I will create a perfect utopia where we won’t have to work or write anything ever again. I don’t know, judging from how it managed Caleb’s writing prompts, it still has a long way to go before its winning a Pulitzer.
